Application of Computed Tomography in the Identification of Hollow Viscus Injuries in Blunt Trauma Patients

Purpose: Despite advances in diagnostic and imaging technologies, the diagnosis of traumatic hollow viscus injury (HVI) remains a great challenge clinical practice. This study aimed to determine accuracy computed tomography (CT) HVI emergent blunt trauma patients.Methods: The was conducted on patients with abdominal who were admitted our center, regional emergency Kyung Hee University Medical Center, between January 2008 December 2018. data underwent CT surgery within 24 hours hospitalization analyzed capacity CT.Results: In total, 156 included study. There 88 cases trauma. Among these patients, 27 diagnosed using CT, 38 operating room. median severity score for 10.0, revised 7.841, 0.96. sensitivity specificity predicting 65.8%, 96.0%, respectively. positive negative predictive values 92.6%, 78.7%, respectively.Conclusion: urgent situations, findings alone are insufficient diagnosing HVI. Further research is required.
